Are you looking for specialized equipment for depositing functional coatings on transparent 3D geometries for aerospace applications such as anti-fog coatings, de-icing, EMI shielding, IR shielding, UV protection, or electrochromic functionality?
Our advanced physical vapor deposition (PVD) solutions are engineered for the exacting demands of aerospace optics, enabling high-performance coatings on large, curved transparent surfaces and free-form geometries such as canopies.
Using a synchronized multi-axis motion system, you can uniformly coat large, complex curvatures and three-dimensional substrates from the inner and outer surface, depending on substrate positioning, to ensure consistent optical coating thickness and low scatter across domes, canopies, lenses, and other non-planar surfaces.

With in-situ target or process-head exchange, transparent conductive oxides, metallic layers, and even organic layers can be deposited directly onto the inner or outer free-form surfaces of components. The substrate and coating surfaces can also be optionally pre- and post-treated as required, without the need to refixture the components. This enables the precise placement of conductive or reflective layer stacks on parts with challenging access and geometries.
Complex coating processes are defined by importing CAD/CAM models to generate tailored deposition recipes and even graded layer profiles. Offline programming with collision detection streamlines production setup, reduces risks to parts and tooling, and accelerates qualification cycles.
We provide the appropriate coating equipment to carry out these tasks and support the development and production of free-form aviation transparencies.
