Your local VON ARDENNE service organization is your first point of contact for technical support, spare and wear parts, maintenance, upgrades, training, and questions about new equipment. We support existing TopBeam™, TopMet™, SmartWeb™, and TopCoil™ equipment throughout its lifecycle. Depending on your equipment and requirements, our services can include:

For older equipment, the scope and availability of support depend on factors such as configuration, technical condition, available documentation, software licenses, and parts availability. Applied Materials will discontinue its roll-to-roll equipment business effective October 31, 2026. To ensure continued access to the relevant technology and expertise, Applied has granted VON ARDENNE an exclusive license to the associated roll-to-roll coating systems technology and intellectual property.

VON ARDENNE is already supporting the installed equipment base and independently providing service, spare parts, upgrades, and new equipment in this field. Existing customer contracts with Applied were not transferred, so any new order or service agreement is concluded directly with VON ARDENNE.

Contact the relevant service organization by e-mail, phone, or through the contact form on our website. To help us process your request quickly, please include:

• your equipment number
• the Applied project number, if available
• a short description of your request
• the current operating status of the equipment
• relevant error messages, screenshots, or photos
• an indication of whether production is affected

The equipment number can normally be found on the nameplate of the +E1 control cabinet. Alternatively, provide the Applied project number in the format P00XXXX. 

If you are facing an urgent, production-critical problem, call the relevant regional service number. Our service team will provide immediate assistance and guide you through the next steps.

To investigate and resolve the issue efficiently, we also require a service ticket containing an exact description of the problem and all available information. Please include the equipment number, current machine status, error messages, screenshots or photos, recent changes, and any troubleshooting already performed.

The more complete the information, the faster we can assess the situation, involve the right specialists and technical departments, and provide targeted support without unnecessary back-and-forth communication.

This emergency contact route is intended for acute, production-critical situations. For routine requests, please use the regular e-mail or website contact process.

Delivery time depends on the specific part, stock status, manufacturing requirements, supplier availability, export requirements, and destination. You will receive a binding, item-specific lead time with the quotation.

We also offer strong spare-parts stocking concepts through our worldwide service network. These can be tailored to your equipment and production requirements, for example through dedicated safety stock or customer-specific inventory arrangements. We will be happy to discuss the most suitable concept with you.

We can assess critical components and identify parts that are becoming obsolete or are no longer available. Depending on the component and equipment, we may recommend a suitable replacement part, a compatible alternative, a technical modification, or a retrofit solution. The available solution depends on technical feasibility, documentation, supplier status, and equipment configuration.

Yes. The proven TopMet™ and TopCoil™ platform families continue for new projects as TopMet Pro™ and TopCoil Pro™. They combine the established equipment concepts with current process, controls, and component technology. TopMet Pro™ is designed for roll-to-roll vacuum coating of flexible substrates and supports applications including aluminum and aluminum-oxide deposition for demanding barrier packaging. We will review your requirements with you to determine the appropriate platform and configuration.

SmartWeb™ remains available for suitable web-coating applications. Depending on your process, the VON ARDENNE systems FOSA CX or FOSA MX may also be considered. For electron-beam applications previously covered by TopBeam™, FOBA is available as a potential alternative. The right solution depends on your substrate, process, productivity and integration requirements, as well as your individual preferences. We will review these factors with you and identify the solution that best meets your needs.
