Thin-Film Coating Equipment for Precision Optical Components

Op­ti­cal win­dows al­low the pas­sage of light of cer­tain wave­lengths for op­to-elec­tron­ic sys­tems. At the same time, they pro­tect them from dis­turb­ing en­vi­ron­men­tal in­flu­ences. They are used in the aero­space in­dus­try for ap­pli­ca­tions such as Earth ob­ser­va­tion, re­mote sens­ing, en­vi­ron­men­tal mon­i­tor­ing, al­ti­tude and dis­tance mea­sure­ment, Li­DAR, ra­dar, cam­era sen­sors, pi­lot vi­sion sys­tems for col­li­sion avoid­ance, and in com­mu­ni­ca­tion sys­tems. This makes op­ti­cal win­dows mis­sion-crit­i­cal for manned and un­manned aero­space ap­pli­ca­tions.

The shape and size of op­ti­cal win­dows are al­most ar­bi­trary. They are of­ten flat glass plates, which are op­ti­mized for max­i­mum trans­mis­sion in the de­sired fre­quen­cy range at least by an an­ti-re­flec­tive coat­ing (AR) on both sides.

With the OPTA X, we of­fer you a PVD coat­ing sys­tem that is ide­al­ly suit­ed for this ap­pli­ca­tion. The sys­tem is suit­able for a va­ri­ety of geo­met­ric shapes of sub­strates.
